Matthew Reilly

One year has passed since I first knew about M. Reilly, an Australian writer and his novels, and I just finished reading all his books few weeks ago. Very great action and thriller novel writer, and his novels are mostly packed with intense, non stop action and great suspense. Reilly said he want the readers to feel like as if we are riding roller coaster, and yeah, I think he has achieved that. It's kind of like lucky that I get to knew his novels. No one has mentioned and recommended it to me, nor did I read the information of the novels anywhere if any. I found Reilly book by chance~

Less than one year ago, I was in the Jusco Harris book shop, searching for novel aimlessly, and then on the A-Z fiction book shelf (btw, they never arrange the book in the alphabetical order >_<), I notice a book with title something something wonders. I'm quite interested in those 7 wonders of the world kind of topic, so I decided to have a closer look at that novel. It's "Seven Deadly Wonders". Got my favourite wonders,, somemore now they are 'deadly'!!! And so, I bought it~ After reading Seven Deadly Wonders, I find myself completely fall in love with his novels. And within one year, I have read all this novel, including the lastest one Six Sacred Stones, the sequel to Seven Deadly Wonders. I remember I had a hard time locating his novels. His novels seem to be quite rare in the usual bookshop I visit. I bought Contest in Sunway Pyramid Popular, Ice Station (CS MPH), Temple (Tiong Bahru Plaza Popular), Area 7 and Hover Car Racer (PS Times), Scarecrow (CS Popular), Six Sacred Stones (Suntet Popular).

Simple storyline with a not so attractive setting in US national library ha. Contest, it's about a fight to death contest involving 7 players. 7 representatives from different planets, contest held in the Earth, in a library ~.~ This novel is perhap one of the weaker books of Reilly, but still an easy to follow storyline mostly focused on the fights between the novel protagonist and other contestants from other planets.

Ice Station is the first book of Shane Schofield's adventure, which is followed by Area 7 and Scarecrow (and also Hell Island). All the 3 novels are about how Schofield, an US recon marine got involved in US military mission which usually has some bigger conspiracy behind. In Ice Station, an 'alien spaceship-like thing' was found somewhere in Antartica, under the sea. So US government sent a team to recover it. But after Schofield team reached the area, only they found out the spaceship has not only interested the US, but also French and British. Good parts of the novel include 1) the exploration of the diver team under the sea to reach the spaceship, and the 'monsters' they encounter, 2) fight between Schofield team and French 3) the part where Schofield was on the breaking ice. I also enjoyed the part when we learnt the truth behind the conspiracies, like the origin of the spaceship etc etc etc.
~Highly recommended~

Busier School Life

School has finally started, and life gets alot busier~
Decided last minute to take an extra 4th LSM module Functional Genomic ~
One week of school has finished, and I realize one thing~
3 LSM + 1 GEM are indeed quite heavy~
Have one week time to decide whether to drop one~ hmm, probably not~
16 hours of lecture per week~
Times without lecture are spent in lab~
Hardly any time (or rather mood) to visit CFA~
However busy school life is, lotsa time are still spent for novels, dramas and games, ha~
Most will say school life is so busy till most of the time is dedicated for studies~
No pasttime, No life~
I think, when you are busy with studies, you will start to make an effort to manage your time~
So that you could continue doing your hobbies without neglecting studies~
And when time appears to be so precious~
You are gonna look forward for everyday~
